    BORGEN Series 3

An advance screening of the first episode of Series 3 of Borgen followed by a Q&A with the writers etc. is part of this Festival of Nordic TV in London in June:

Also a chance to watch the finale of the Arne Dahl series (which I've been following with great pleasure) and a Q&A with the cast inc. the lovely Malin Arvidsson (Kerstin Holm)
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

ta Caliban .... just re-watched the last six of series 2 [swoon etc]

while i greatly enjoy Arne Dahl, and especially the development of the individual narratives and relationships of the team, it lacks a certain summat [consider Spiral?] ....

I haven't been watching the Arne Dahl series, but I am looking forward to Borgen Series 3- I just hope the BBC move it to BBC2 so we'll be able to watch her- I mean it - in HD!!

Malin Arvidsson is for me easily the star of the show by a very long way, and deserves a series to herself. Ideally suited to Nordic noir.

When Mrs C and I went to see the very excellent 'Mud' at our local independent-ish film theatre the other night, they showed a trailer for 'A Hijacking' which has lots of the cast of Borgen/ Killing and is doing the rounds just now and looked pretty interesting, I have to say.

            Shamefully off-topic but I can't resist....

Well, I'd take the off-shoulder look to the pistol packing mamma anyday. I tend to agree with aka Calum that "arne dahl" lacks something. Is there just too much back narrative? Endeavour is more my cuppa.

Laid up with bronchitis, I've just watched two double episodes of Arne Dahl on iPlayer back to back. Good to be back in the Nordic noir world, although the relationships are not quite as subtle as The Killing or The Bridge.

Thanks Calibs for the heads up as I might have missed this otherwise.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather, kernel ... but glad if that series has taken you out of it for a bit. Agreed, not quite as subtle - but I've grown attached to the 'A Team' (although I find their methods somewhat slapdash, if one thinks too much about it! Not sure I believe in Hultin the head lady either...).

                            Get better soon!
