I have a sneaky feeling this series has been on before. If so, apologies to all for starting this thread. The fact that they don't indicate repeats from other channels on BBC 4 is a problem.

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

And here's the link (ahem) ...

Art historian James Fox explores British painting from 1910 to 1975.

I enjoyed it, not having seen it before. I presume the next two programmes will come at weekly intervals?

Part 2 of British Masters was last night BBC4 at 8pm. Covering between the two World Wars, featuring Stanley Spencer, Munnings and others.

              I enjoyed it anyway,

I enjoyed it too, saly, very much. Funny old stick, Piper, wasn't he...?

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

O, but they DO indicate repeats/previous broadcasts in great detail, at least online...

How a group of radical painters pioneered a style to make sense of the modern experience.

This programme was previously on BBC Four too, not another channel.
