      The Scots guy who's the station master at Farringdon was most amiable, and obviously keen enough on his occupation to have found out quite a lot about the network, judging by his remarks about his station and its history. LT staff are generally much friendlier and more helpful than I remember them as being as a child. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the different attitudes which came with the arrival of the West Indians.
