I watched the first episode. That was enough for me!!

8thOb, I've been watching. After first episode I nearly didn't but I'm sticking with it, however I imagine not many people here are but I'd welcome your opinions. (I haven't seen many reviews about it and have no idea how it's doing ratings-wise)

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Blimey, 8ob - for a minute there I thought I'd missed a lot of details from Broadchurch!

We didn't make it through the first episode. Beyond grim - and that was just John Simm's table manners. Wife having to entice husband upstairs to distract him from beating the boy just too horrible, came over all squeamish.

I thought 8ob had been inhaling the wood anemones again!!

I see The Village as a series of snapshots, of vignettes, ...... doesn't anyone else?
Viewed on that level, rather than a joined up story, I think it's panning out quite well.
(Isn't it set in Derbyshire, East Midlands where wheat growing is possible?)
