    "Freedom is a constant struggle".

There's an interesting event coming up in Glasgow later this month (18th to 21st), with discussions, talks and performances around the theme

Do art forms like black radical poetry, free jazz and improvisation create a space for the performance of freedom? Did they ever? And can they still do so now?
Some of the blurb is a bit pretentious, but there's a really interesting list of participants, including

    Poets:
    • M NourbeSe Philip
    • Sonia Sanchez
    • Amira Baraka

    Musicians:
    • John Tilbury
    • Daniel Carter
    • Wadada Leo Smith
    • Henry Grimes
    • William Parker

I'm hoping to get along to at least some of it.

I'd say the subject is of even more relevance today than it was in its supposed heyday. Enjoy the discussions, Byas'd - I'd have loved to have been there.
