    Any suggestions/deductions, then?

Or has everyone overdosed on red herrings?!

Guardian readers enjoying swapping a bizarre range of suspects:

Vicky Frost:Ahead of our series blog this Saturday we get up to date with the suspenseful Scandinavian detective drama. All theories - but no spoilers - welcome

      Live blog tomorrow.

OK, I've had a look at the suggestions, and without giving too much away I will say this: the killer was mentioned in at least one of the postings

Well as practically everyone except the director was fingered by the Graun readers you are indeed not giving much away, UM! What I find gripping about this series is not so much wanting to know oodunnit but the shifting alliances and hostilities of all the relationships. Apart from that being realistic it must reflect the changing suspicions in a police investigation.

Yes, that's true. What I find irritating is the Police's willingness to dive straight in on any new shred of suspicion like bulls in a china shop. Are these supposed to be the brains of the force?! And they're pretty unpleasant to just about everyone. I'm sure our Police aren't like this

In the long term I think I may have been most struck by the relationship of the Birk Larsens. One hears often that marriages tend to fall apart after a tragedy of this kind, and I for one have been guilty in the past of thinking "Well, why don't they just stick together, support each other, and jolly well brace up?", but now here it is laid out before us in rather harrowing detail. The wife is particularly terrifying, but I have to remind myself she can't help it.

I rather think when you get a serial as long as this your hunger to know who actually dunnit has been well and truly blunted by the time you get to the denouement. In this case, it's a matter of seeing just how thick the Police can be for another few weeks before the truth is finally revealed!

I wish I knew more Danish, I'm sure it would enrich the experience somewhat. I know the word for bookshop is Boghandel, if that's any help

                    Sound on, and listen ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

the police following what lies in front of their noses and not reflecting, checking all the data and evidence etc is a key requirement for the plot structure and dramatic intent .... mebbe? i do agree about the writing and acting involving the Birk Larsens great stuff ...

Well, the pressure was upped tonight. Can't wait for next week - and the week after - and the week after that.

Well tonight's two episodes ended with a real cliff hanger - and we now have to wait another week to find out what happens next!

Calum - a big appreciation for having flagged this up. Not having a tv, I would have missed out on this otherwise. As it is, I've been able to watch the whole thing on iPlayer. Skol!

Tak for Forbrydelsen, CDJ. I've caught up on iPlayer and am just about to watch episode 14.
