I understood that from his conversation with his Doctor, not supposed to be working, hadn't told anyone death imminent, wanted to atone mistake he'd made in his last case .... the boy on cliff dripping blood from fingers, I don't think was Danny but Tom.
(I'm sure my memory would be clearer if it were not for those b%*^&y constant adverts!!)

Yes - she's definitely plotting something, isn't she? The only time she lost her cool was when her dog went missing.

Something that's bothering me - why did "they" (whoever it was) set fire to the boat? I mean - conspicuous or what? Why not just scupper it if they just wanted to get rid of the evidence? Burning it in full view of everyone - it's as if they wanted it to be seen - so that it detracts attention from ... ?

Nice scene with the sister and her "happy room": apart from the "whodunnit" aspect of this series, there have been some lovely three-dimensional, "human" portrayals.

... but there was a little devil on my shoulder who imagined him saying at the end of his outburst against Hardy "and the guy who followed you on Doctor Who was a lot better, as well!"

                ***Spoiler Alert***

Episode 6 last evening, were there several moments when Miller's hubby seemed to be giving dodgy sideways glances, etc?

The Rev seems to have gone off the boil but as the suspects wax and wane, it's Miller's hubby (Tom's dad) who has started getting interesting

Well spotted Miss Marple! Tom - something deleted on computer, asks Vicar if deletions can be retrieved - later seen smashing computer with a rock. Miller's hubby stops Tom talking to D.I Hardy. Tom says Danny was not his friend, hated him, glad he's dead. Vicar seen stroking Tom's hand.
Nige and his crossbow again! Did he shoot? What is connection between Dog Lady and Nige? Why did Dog Lady have skateboard?
No idea whodunnit! Flay could be right of course ......?

Anna - my only additional question to this excellent summary is - has anyone diagnosed DI Hardy's medical condition yet?

I also noted the suspicious behaviour spotted by Ams.

We weren't meant to get a good look at the fleeing suspect at the end - was it Nige? Or the vicar? Or even Tom's dad?

                        [Spoiler Speculation alert]

And are we in for further tension as Tom's Mum now has to run the investigation solo or by remote control from visiting DI Hardy in bed / hospital etc?
Or indeed has DI hardy bought it?

Is that postman a complete red herring....he still appears in title sequence at beginning....

....I reckon there is some sort 'protection racket' going on ref Nige and Susan....(Nige very well cast
, he may be supplemental to Danny plot, but his part is a very good sub-plot)

....seems revolve around what Danny did to alienate Tom....+ the messages that Tom thinks incriminates him....Hmmmm What can that be ??....Hmmmm but this too may be a red herring, children often think their action to be more important than they really are.....Hmmmmm

....Money in springs of Dannys bed....Hmmmm....postman

Both the above were the main things to strike me when catching up with this episode.

A positive cadenza of developments and leads in the final few moments...

It's still gripping, I think - increasingly so.

True... Never watch Who so I've never seen him before...

Talking of good TV acting, did anyone see the final 'Foyle's War' of the recent 'cold war' trilogy. The first two weren't very good, I didn't think, but the third one on Sunday (called "Sunflowers") was excellent I thought - and graced by some gripping acting. Kitchen's quality is a given (one of the great screen actors now) but the actors playing a mysterious Dutch professor and a damaged ex-soldier were really exceptional...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

David Tennant is still listed in the cast list in next week's Radio Times. But that may be incorrect or just a red herring. And in the preview it talks about "last week's bolt from the blue" which could mean that he has died after all; we all new he was ill, and I don't know what else would be classsified as a bolt from the blue?

Apart from the nature and seriousness of DI Hardy's illness, the other big puzzle for me last week was the dog- why was it taken- and then lined up with a crossbow? (Hopefully not an addition to the list of deceased). That's what I like about Broadchurch- every week it leaves me wondering what this meant, what that meant. It's brilliantly written.

(My only problem with Broadchurch- it clashes with the fantastic Game of Thrones on (ahem) another channel....)

Finally twigged where I'd seen Andrew Buchan, the actor playing Mark Latimer, before - he was in Garrow's Law. I didn't recognise him without the wig
