Well, at least one of our number (no names..no pack drill) was spot-on in terms of 'location' ! Thought this last series just got better and better as it went along.

Thought the political ending quite brilliant...so we end up with isolation for at least one main character in each of the strings...loved it!

Yes; this occured to me when it was revealed - hope this boosts said number's self-confidence!

SPOILER: if you haven't watched the last episodes yet, look away from the next sentence, please.

I haven't seen the first series (Santa has it in his sack if I'm good) - but I picked up nothing in series 2 or 3 that suggested that Lund's character would have behaved in the way that she did in the last ten minutes of the final episode.

I didn't see series 1 either, but I feel I should go back and watch the last episode again to clarify and formulate my thoughts about her actions and the ending. I should think the stragglers will have caught up by the end of the week.

She has always done what appeared the correct thing in the circumstances - previously she resisted. She surveyed the scene with her studied eye and realised that she had no other logical option. I think it was well within her scope. She's a dangerous gal to be around. It's Blix I felt for!

The first series is the best of the three IMHO, mainly due to the length (20 hours). However, all of the three series are excellent.

I think Lund cracked when she realised that the guilty party was going to get away with it - together with several other murders of young girls. That coupled with the fact that her son and his partner had had a baby girl themselves, and it looked as if they were going to have the kind of 'happy family' relationship she never had with her son. So frustration and anger mixed together.

The line that made me smile most was Lund's 'We could build an extension' when referring to the size of her house. I'll miss Sarah, and if they have Oscars in Denmark Ms Grabol deserves one. Fantastic acting.

Genuine happiness was there waiting for her to grasp it, but that's never a real option for Lund.

Yes Stunsworth, agree This was her frustrated at all the miscarriages of justice she had seen and knowing there was only one way to stop him hurting more young girls, and sacrificing her own happiness to get rid of him, because the politicians and big business ..... I too loved the extension line ...

Yes, I can sort of accept her disposal of the culprit ... but what she did afterwards? Just seemed all too "let's leave the ending open, in case we change our minds about this being the last series" to me - and the absence of this sort of formulaic writing was what most impressed me about Series 2. A lot more "padding" in episodes 7, 8 & 9, too, I thought.

Isn't it funny how we perceive the episodes differently. Both Mrs RM and I thought that the twists and turns really started in those episodes !

Agree 100 % with comments re Ms Grabol's acting. Out of the three Series I liked I and III best but overall was seriously impressed with the acting of the father of the murdered girl in Series I. Excellent series though and will be missed.

I agree about the last scene. The authorities would have been waiting for her at the other end - and a plane isn't a taxi, you can't just get into one and say "Take me to X". However up to that scene I thought it was fantastic - albeit with some rather obvious holes for anyone with knowledge of computer systems.

The conversation with the guilty party looking in the rear view mirror was one of the creepiest scenes I've seen. I have to admit I thought Lund was going to shoot herself, I was happy to be proved wrong.

The whole family in the first series were fantastic. It brought home very powerfully how an event like the daughter's murder can destroy, or nearly destroy, an entire family.

it was all about Lund at root, not who dun it... that was just the mcguffin to get Lund in a final fluff, doing what Borch said... as if she is weak at the core and her relentless persistence in pursuit a mask for an inner loss of drive and commitment ... desolation row stuff and wonderfully acted ... i too had expected her to shoot herself for all the reasons cited above plus she could gift her 'shed' to her son by dying etc .... and not screw up her picture of her family happy without her

i found the image of her alone on the plane far more desolate than suicide but it indicates a profound personal impotence ... she can only achieve effect in the world by self sacrifice and as Mark notes she is very hard to love ... the contrast with the manipulating psyches all around [except for Asborn the naive young policeman always at a loss and left behind ] is marked Lund is not at all manipulative [?] she seeks truth and justice but ends up alone estranged and looking very miserable ..

what drama and character and Grabol was immense ...
