    Good Cop ....

well anything that gets the Tgraf at odds with itself is doing ok

the response cop as the last existentialist [remember Electro Glide in Blue anyone?]

this bbc drama is a sight more convincing i find .... a good man does evil ... discuss ....two episodes in and i am hooked on the moral angst of a stoic non moralising good cop who is really bad as well ... no linear narrative in whodunnit style, no comfy characters but everyone just a bit too awkward ... this betokens a welcome new sense of ambition at the bbc ...

The sad thing about this is that people bother about it: it's make-believe, drama, fantasy, just one person's idea of drama, one person's idea of what someobody might do in a particular make-believe circumstance. One person's propaganda, in fact. The fact that two reviews are different speaks volumes, and I'm glad that I have better things to do with my time, in the real world, than to watch fiction.

Thanks, but even if I had very little energy, I think I'd prefer to read a good book. Or perhaps watch something educational or amusing.

I find this four part series very compelling, especially since the actors involved are very watchable and believable and the plot although unlikely, is seeking to give out justice or revenge, where the law makers are not or cannot! I did find myself talking to the tv during this week's episode pleading with the main character, police officer Jean Paul Rocksavage, who thinks about doing away with a potential witness that could thwart his 'cause', not to take this irrevocable action; and indeed he must have listened turning out a Good Act instead. Last episode in the series this week.

I won't be watching it (mainly because I don't have a telly , not because I'm a pompous ass ), despite the pecs, but, based on the review (admittedly partial & one person's interpretation) I rather agree with the reviewer's comment that the lead character must be a bit thick. I'd also strongly disagree with the previewer's comment that he 'has' to do a bad thing.

... surely no-one can even begin to watch a series in which the writers have chosen such an absurdly hyperbutch name such as "Rocksavage" for their hero

Since the last two posters are clearly not watching the series, and one is relying on one critic's review, well there is nothing they more they can say about Good Cop!
