I wish someone had alerted me to the recent film of Louis Lortie. I only caught the end and it seemed fascinating and, being in French, made me listen hard too. I've always thought LL is a thoughtful player - and his recent Chopin CDs have confirmed this. (LL=Lortie, not Lang Lang - chalk and cheese!)

Fortunately - and someone will doubtless see this as a weakness, not a strength - the Lortie programme will be repeated sometime.

Tom Jones shown up horribly by all around him. Surprisingly slight a play compared to the complex little David Tennant number that opened the season.
