Lady Gould and I stayed up until 02.30 last night and got to the end of this and like most hereabouts really enjoyed it and cannot wait for SL3. But her Ladyship has, what I think is, a fair question - at the end when you know who, having shot everyone else in the head, shoots you know who, why is it all chest stuff?

It was a flaw, I agree. At the time I remember thinking - 'she can't have been sure that would work, she must have managed to put blanks in that gun... but of course that wouldn't have worked with head shots either.

Lady G is on to something

New thriller series Borgen starts tonight on BBC4. Political rather than crime.

New crime series "The Bridge" starts in the spring.

...Borgen seems more West Wing than thriller but highly enjoyable imv ....

It was good to see Sarah Lund's side-kick (Jan Meyer played by Søren Malling) from The Killing Series I back, this time as the politician's husband.

And he is SO different! Laid back, supportive, resourceful. Sure there must eventually be a twist in all this as she spends more and more time away from home.

Yes having both sidekicks in there was one reason I couldn't get into it, having had their Killing roles engraved into my brain... It prevented the suspension of disbelief.

That and the absence of gruesome corpses...

The big question is - will Borgen do for Danish pastries what The Killing did for jumpers?
                              I don't think so.
                              Too soapy.

I think the Danish Tourist Board has got more closely involved with the production team of Borgen. There seem to be a lot more airy and sunny shots of Copenhagen landmarks, whereas The Killing I & II seemed to take place mainly at night and was full of disused warehouses and wharves which usually contained either a dead body or a serial killer. Much more of that and people will be starting to wonder where that Danish bacon has come from.
