Here is the Wiki definition - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_%28computing%29

My avatar is a photo of one of my paintings. The title of the painting is Hebridean Shore. It is an abstract work painted in gouache. It's not that I set out to paint a Hebridean Shore, but people expect paintings to have titles. It's not really a painting "of" something, it is rather an expression of the colour and feelings that I get from that part of the country.

I like it. Reminds me a bit of paintings by the late Donald Hamilton Fraser.

Chris, anything to report on your paintings. It was sunny here yesterday. If it was sunny where you live I hope you took advantage of it. best, salymap

I've just been told that Hornspieler is slowly getting back to his Troovi site, [URL on message 38 of this thread]. He is adding some pix of Canada and started yesterday with some nice Totem Poles.

As the sun has burst upon us today I have been able to photograph some of my recent paintings. A variable bunch but there we are.

I really like the Rain on Glass picture - it's very atmospheric!

Thanks for email Chris and love your new pix. more for my photofile. I would be grateful if you would all keep Hornspieler's Troovi going too. I see he hasn't accessed it for two weeks now as he is still struggling a bit with health problems. He hasn't asked me to do this but it would help, I know. URL somewhere on here.
