On now after the Bridcut documentary repeat - 1981 concert with SCO/Leppard from the Queen’s Hall,Edinburgh introduced by the doyenne of Scottish broadcasters Mary Marquis. Mendelssohn Infelice and Hansel’s cantata La Lucrezia- lovely singing of the Nendelssohn so far - inconceivable that a programme like this would be on BBC2 nowadays.

Thanks for the alert on this - now safely added to my media hoard (Good old Get I Player downloader!). As you say, a delight to see Mary Marquis, and you are quite right in asserting that BBC2 wouldn't touch that sort of thing today. A casual glance at the BBC programme index, or even looking at old bits of BBC2 presentation on Youtube, reveals a decent smattering of non-Proms classical programming that doesn't get a place in the schedules now.
