Bit OTT on this occasion, however, if I may be permitted to observe

I wonder what the BBC Head of Arts and Classical Music TV actually does which enables her to listen to Essential Classics in the mornings? I suppose Classical Music TV won't take up much of her time. Is Georgia Mann doing EC every week now?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

      Sorry, very contrite.

Perhaps it's mainly night-time shift work, e.g. seeing what Sky Arts is doing?

I half heard ( I was flitting between rooms so it took a while to join the dots between the words and the remembering of her job move) her broadcast farewell which possibly came across rather better than the tweet above. She was fulsome in her praise of the behind the scenes folk who make the show possible, so that is to her credit I think.

I think she may very well genuinely miss the programme presenter role despite shat many on the forum have said about her style. I wish her well and hope that her new role bears fruit in forthcoming offerings on 2 and 4 in the near future. I think we will see some new presenter to do the two weeks about with Georgia.

I hadn't realised Ian Skelly was leaving - very sorry to hear that.

I think that's a reference to Ian Skelly's "move" from the morning schedule to Afternoon duties - as today https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000zmxn

He left Essential Classics (Georgia Mann replaced him). He hasn't left Radio 3.

                  Odders there first!

That's a relief. Thanks oddoneout & French Frank.

Have I missed something or is Georgia to become to EC what Petroc is to Breakfast …… a, to all intents and purposes, solo pilot ….. ?????

I thought she would be doing turn and turn about, (3 weeks on 1 off?) but can't remember who the other party is.

Think Petroc seems to be doing fewer breakfasts this year - he's been sharing the slots with Kate Molleson and Hannah French in the past few months. Georgia (deep breath) Mann (another deep breath) having moved up the schedule

While the repertoire at breakfast has been steadily going downmarket at least he dooesn't tell you what to think about each piece like the other two... as a result I have been listening to much more Through the Night on sounds and Swiss Classical radio

Or maybe they just haven’t found anyone yet who would agree to do it - anyway Georgia does a good job!

Time will tell, but I much prefer her to the stroppy school mistress.
