Very fond memories - including Beyond the Fringe, his TV series about the human body, ENO Rosenkavalier. Glimpsed him only once. While about to enter ENO for Rosenkavalier, he was also just arriving. Memory is: very tall and very tweedy.Comment

His televised semi-staged Matthew Passion was wonderful. We still have it on an old VHS tape, and it gets a whirl every so often. Jonathan Peter Kenny (alto in that performance) continues the semi-staged Passions in his cathedral tours with ETO.
