    Stanley Donen 1924 – 2019

Charade was the first film I watched multiple times. RIP.
Donen, who was hailed as ‘a brilliant storyteller’, also directed On the Town, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Charade

The only one I remember seeing, as a child, was Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. A bit politically incorrect in parts - perhaps that's why it's not referred to as often as others.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Two For The Road is a great sixties film with attractive central performances from Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney, though it does suffer somewhat from Frederic Raphael's up-itself script.
