I have very fond memories of Fred playing this at the Almeida Festival in 1983. It was not programmed. He was supposed to play a new song cycle with Roswitha Trexler, but she had visa problems so he substituted this trifle he wrote for the bicentenary of the American DoI, plus Takehashi's Kwanju, May 1980. I'm glad to say he gave me permission to record those performances. You have probably come across my remarks on the performance you linked to above.

So do you think it's one of Lizzies faves as well then?
Or is she more a Sorabji kind of woman?

The Lizzie in the photograph died in 2002. She might well have favoured the work. She was known for her wayward tastes.
