Historian Ilan Pappe stands up well to the hostile questioning of Stephen Sackur on the BBC’s ‘HardTalk’:

A tough watch: a drama based on a true story. Timothy Spall kind of chews the scenery up in Ep 1, by the end of which his character is dead.....
I'm on Ep 3 now and it remains a tough watch. Definitely recommended, though.

I'd definitely recommend this blockbuster documentary at 8.00 PM Saturday, scheduled right after Strictly .

You might enjoy the book that was the basis of the documentary too !

Might watch that. Mum told me a Sir Richard Brackenbury, in charge at The Tower when The Princes were suffocated, was a family ancestor in whose lineage were were in posterior, so it will be time to check and see if Mum was right!

Sounds worse and possibly more painful than being on the wrong side of the blanket!
                    I wonder what it means.

No doubt the documentary and book will get to the bottom of it……

Perhaps I should have written "in posterity" then!

....If it comes down to it, life has the habit of throwing stuff from all sorts of angles....and if you come out the other side of it, if you get through it....it probably means you've got a rip in the back of your tent....

Revenge of the cybermen with tom baker is good. Most of the effects date well but the blowing up of the cybermen model ship was classic.

Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...

I suspect you're a Doctor Who? fan, Jason. I'm among the few still alive whom remembers seeing episode one the first time it was broadcast (1963?) (as well as the following week when it was repeated before episode two was shown). My favourite doctor was Patrick Troughton; sadly, his episodes are I think, the most affected by the great wipe out.
