And just to add to my previous one,

        (c) any problems we might have taking care of the more vulnerable people in society aren't the result of there "not being enough money to go around" but of long-standing policies ("austerity") whose predictable effect has been to concentrate increasing wealth in a decreasing proportion of the population (not to mention foreign-base multinationals, offshore tax havens etc.)

Good news for feckless folk (and everybody else)
It's been confirmed that programmes can now remain on iPlayer for a year, and longer in some cases.

            'Der Pass' - Sky Atlantic

Last night I saw the first of this 8 episode series. A body is found in the snow on a stone marker on the Austrian / German border.

Hmmm... something strangely familiar about that idea.

I am very concerned that Anastasius may not have been planned...

There was a border-straddling body in 'The Bridge'.

Yes, 'The Bridge'. It's a well used idea that I recall over the years.

As our little tribute to Jeremy Kemp we've just watched the very first episode of 'Z Cars'.

I’ve done two episodes Stanfordian, it is reminiscent of The Bridge but it’s looking promising. I do like it when they take cross-border swipes at one another, it’s pretty much like it is....
And, I could watch anything with Nicholas Ofczarek in it, he’s a solid character player and he’s coming up trumps in this one. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before but try Braunschlag - a priceless Austrian black comedy (it does exist as a subtitled DVD set from which I purloined my sign in).
