Lat night's "Life Story: A Horizon Special" was a real treat; with an all-star cast - Juliet Stevenson, Tim Pigott-Smith, Alan Howard & Jeff Goldblum...
Brenda Maddox's "Rosalind Franklin:The Dark Lady of DNA" is an interesting read, as is James Watson's "The Double Helix".

My wife talked me into the 3rd episode of Black Doves yesterday. I told her I refuse to continue. Each episode of more vapid than its predecessor. It is fascinating to wonder just how bad something can get

A further reply to this - season 2 is turning into top-flight stuff! Have you got as far as episode 5? I’ve just finished watching it - when Alison Janney (formerly of West Wing) turns up as the US VP, she hoists the series up yet another notch. Her scenes with the two leads are among the best I’ve seen in recent years (the script seems to have risen to greet her, too)

I've just started the first series and am very impressed. I noticed that a certain Jonathan Powell was among the consultants named in the credits.

I’m liking Black Doves more and more! (Currently in episode 3). Stylish, intriguingly convoluted plot, and some great supporting characters! I particularly like the Welsh one of the pair of hitwomen
