Yes, they are all astonishing and making a choice is virtually impossible.
+1. I also thought her programming was excellent. Liked the guitarist too.

Agreed. Stephanie Childress should've won. Is there such a thing as too professional for a young age?

It did occur to me that maybe there some misguided attempt not to show favouritism in the judging room as there was a specialist double-bass judge, a specialist violin judge and a specialist guitar judge - the only instrument not represented by an active professional player was the winning cello.

          So maybe a compromise candidate?
          Just an idle thought?

... well a couple of minutes in and we got this from Alison Balsom (who's clearly been glugging the BBC Kool-Aid):

"All the signs are pointing towards it being something even more - if possible - extraordinary this year"

              What a surprise.

Oh... and: chair of jury - "award-winning performer, composer and writer… Kerry Andrew"... Anyone heard of her?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                  Oh.

There was supposed to be an image of Paddington's "hard stare!" at the end of that post.

What's happened to copying images from Google? It used to be easy-peasy!

Oh!! Now it's showing via the link - but not just the image, the entire page

I hadn't, perhaps unsurprisingly, although I do listen to Hear & Now when time permits. Having now sampled her work, I don't feel I've missed anything.

You now have to double right click on the image, and then select 'view image'. Only then will you get a URL to copy. I think.

                              ... oh yeh!

(A single click did it ... but many thanks, jean.)

Anyone any idea how to make images a bit smaller?

There's nothing inside vBulletin itself. There used to be a plug-in but that doesn't seem to be available now. The only way is either to used imgur (the easiest) or download it to your computer and use any app you have there (like photoshop. GIMP), like this - which is a nuisance as it still has to be uploaded somewhere else (nah, forget that).

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
