'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy' returns to Radio 4 at 6.30 p.m. on the 8th of March. It's hard to believe that it's 40 years since it first burst upon an unsuspecting world. I'm particularly intrigued by the prospect of Jim Broadbent playing Marvin The Paranoid Android.

A touch of serendipity. I popped into the Hounslow Poundland this morning. The branch is closing down and the remaining stock has been reduces in price by 90%. There was very little worth paying even 10p for but there was one stand out bargain, "The Frood" by Jim Roberts. A brand new hardback copy. I happily coughed up the requisite sum.
