Now we are four episodes into "Hold the Sunset", I reckon it is very good indeed and almost outstanding.

So everyone else in the world disagrees.

They are just a bunch of moaning minnies.
I was amazed to discover that this series (which I thought was dire) was written by Charles McKeown, who also wrote the screenplay for Brazil and Baron Munchausen, amongst other things.
"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

(Should it be repeated on BBC Scotland, users of Freesat, and presumably other platforms, will be able to watch).
They've been running it from the beginning and are into series 2. Worth catching the early series in particular, L. There's 4 or 5 from series 2 there just now...I've been watching them again on the BBC Scotland Channel and they hold up well. Some terrific characters in there.

We've just seen our first ever episode - series 2 episode 3. A real discovery for us - many thanks!

The actors who play Jack and Victor are the writers, L. Last night I watched an episode where J & V celebrated 60 years of friendship - classic Glasgow humour. 'Still Game' stopped a number of years ago because Kiernan and Hemphill fell out with each other - they reunited after a long hiatus and brought the show back to the great delight of their fans.

I didn't realise that Still Game wasn't mainstream fare. It was/is funny and well worth watching.
