KB, it depends on what sort of films interest you. It may be best to take out a free trial and see if there’s enough there for you. I certainly think it’s a worthwhile subscription.

There’s a list of everything in date of release order here...

Every streaming service in one place, from over 300 free and paid streaming services. Browse, track and watch all your TV shows and movies from one place.

Thanks Steve - helpful. On a quick look, it seems mostly commercial cinema rather than 'art' films. I may follow your suggestion for a trial.

Very rare for the films to be accessed here, other than once in a while when something missed in the cinema pops up.*

The catalogue of TV series, both new and older, is the great resource which makes the subscription worth while, imo. - from complete BBC classics like Blackadder to the latest US series (Breaking Bad, Stranger Things etc). Great to be able to watch series like Fargo, free of the adverts which undermined them on Channel 4, and with superlative picture quality. Plus a hidden bonus is that if you have to leave a long space of time before returning to a series (which with DVD boxsets means a long hunt for where we got to, or starting over again), Netflix remembers where you were and you can pick up where you left off.

An occasional annoyance is that series which were on there are removed. I saw 2 or 3 seasons of Spiral on Netflix having missed them on BBC - but I see they're no longer there. I was able to catch up with the first few seasons of Line of Duty in similar fashion, and was lucky because one of them disappeared the day after I finished. All to do with rights agreements...

Definitely worth a trial period, I'd say!

        .

        * For instance, thanks to your question, I've just noticed that Bridge of Spies is now on Netflix, which I very much wanted to see but didn't - problem solved.

Another example was a few months ago when someone (possibly here) mentioned The Spy Who Came In From The Cold - I had a sudden wish to see the film again, and there it was on Netflix, 2 or 3 clicks away - and in terrific sharp picture quality.

Thanks - I managed to get them all watched at the time! They must have come back!

The series has had some very good reviews (it aired in France in September).

Worth a gander-I binged it yesterday. I’m grateful for the ‘Bond girl’ connection, it’s one of those faces you know you’ve seen before. Not a spoiler but there’s a hilarious homage to The Shining in episode 8, had me in stitches

That should be the cherry on the cake.

(Haven't watched last night's double bill yet - I could say that I was glued to Hear & Now, but in truth it was Avengers: Ultron - so can't comment on the new series yet. )

For some reason (which I can't see) Wolf Hall seems to be back on iPlayer - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod...ree-card-trick

I think it's good, but I can't actually see how it relates to TV broadcasts - has it been repeated recently, or is this a new phenomenon? Showing repeats on iPlayer is fine, but how are we supposed to find out about them if that is a coming new trend?

                        Anyway, worth watching this one.

Dave, the Beeb put several ‘box sets’ up on iPlayer just before Christmas. Perhaps there will be a trend for BBC produced series to be available permanently. I hope so.

We saw Santa Claws over the Christmas period and it was really interesting to watch our feline friend reacting to what was going on! If the kittens were in a spot of bother, he was rather concerned! (I hasten to add this was MrsBBM's choice btw!)

Which is what happened to Frau Braunschlag and the icing on this years monumental Christmas Cake....
Great cake but methinks there was some skimping in the glycerine, the only thing that will get through it is probably a Dremel:).
