Yeah, 8th! I caught this by chance last Sunday and really enjoyed it. Funnily enough it reminded me of another taxi film, one of my favourites; Jarmusch's 'Night on Earth' about 5 taxi rides taking place across the globe on one night pre-Uber, and providing that claustrophobic yet intimate relationship inside of a Cab. Great stuff!

Loved it I remember an old teacher of mine once saying that great art seems to thrive under repressive regimes. He was referring to literature under the C19th century Tsars. Could have been anywhere, though. And here's an example. This must have been shot on a miniscule budget under the watchful eye of state censors, and there's a moving testament to the latter in the final credits. It's got everything: tension, drama. humour, local colour, and all very low key. Makes a change to find something on iplayer I actually want to watch, too. Once upon a time we got more World Cinema on the BBC. Now there's hardly any. Blink and you miss it.
