    Five Lessons on R4

Amusing and slightly poignant play about an adult re-starting piano lessons after a professional career. Maureen Lipman and Julian Rhind Tutt are the pupil and pianist.

Maureen Lipman stars in the second of four comedy dramas written especially for her.

..I noticed that! I'm a great fan of Nancarrow's wonderful piano rolls.

Have heard the MDG recordings using a Bösendorfer, plus a Fischer grand for the 2 piano works:

Conlon Nancarrow, Study for Player Piano No. 21 (Canon X). Aufgenommen mit dem Ampico Bösendorfer Flügel von Jürgen Hocker, der nach den Wünschen Nancarrows ...

...just love the way the treble starts fast and gets slower, the bass doing the opposite.

            Then there's this.....

Conlon Nancarrow, Study for Player Piano No. 25. Aufgenommen mit dem Ampico Bösendorfer Flügel von Jürgen Hocker, der nach den Wünschen Nancarrows restaurier...

and this surely owes much to Nancarrow's genius ?

It probably does Gongers. No idea what it is...but it's harmonically far less interesting than Conlon N. b.1912

                    Indeed it is
There is a whole genre of "Black Midi" which stems from Nancarrow
                    this is another one

I have no words besides "IMPOSSIBRU!" Midi made by TheSuperMarioBros2.Note count: Roughly 1,000,000 notes

Part of the idea is to try and crash the programme by overloading it with too many notes

I read the Thread title and wondered if budget cuts had reached the Advent service. (And I even heard the play yesterday! )
