    Gisele Casadesus RIP

    14 June 1914 – 24 September 2017

    Such sad news.

The Jean Rochefort thread prompted a search to see how she was doing.

She has passed on at the age of 103.

A wonderful actress from a talented family whose other members are best known not for acting but achievements in classical music.

Oh! I missed that completely. I had not thought of her being that age - she was still acting in films until recently, and I saw her on stage about ten years ago. She appeared with a touring production of Shakespeare, in what was obviously her 90th decade..

      Extraordinary.

      10th decade!

In 2010-11, she played a 95 year old woman alongside Depardieu in the film "La Tête en Friche" ("My Afternoons with Margueritte") and didn't seem anything like that age.

But, if anything, she was slightly older.

The following links set out the family's considerable classical music links:

        Sorry about the arithmetic!

Most of the attention around "La Tête en Friche" concerned GD's health, not that of GC.

          No problem Alain.

I am never sure whether to make that sort of comment as it seems undiplomatic but in her case it seemed very important.

And on GD, yes, and probably along with discussion on his choice of country to live in although that might have been later!

For all of his faults, I am a fan - those of us with big noses recognize not only the talent but the hurdles he has overcome.
