There were two wrong notes which spoilt it for me: William saying that it was Catherine's idea, and Charles that he could not live alone, not seeing his sons and grandchildren again. They weren't exactly a close-knit family. But I suppose the play had to have West End Theatre mass appeal - and required a Happy Ending of sorts.

There was certainly one near the start where Charles is speaking direct to camera about his coming responsibilities and ends with the words "That's me!" - the previous line having also ended with a syllable rhyming with that, and I thought there were others but harder to pick up because lines were at times elided.Originally posted by jean View Post
The scene where CIII enters the House of Commons unintentionally recalled for me the wonderful scene in the filmed version of the Comic Strip's "The Strike" where Arthur Scargill aka Al Pacino aka Peter Richardson brings up Tammy to address the Speaker - I thought this one matched the Hollywood version of The Strike both for its absurdity and its crafted appeal to an American audience.Comment
