Manchester's Royal Exchange production of 'King Lear' from May this year - with Don Warrington in the title role - has been filmed and will be available for 3 months on iPlayer from Monday.
I didn't get to see this at the time - it was a sell-out production - so I'm looking forward to this. In the trailer there is an audience present and it looks like they have captured the experience of visiting this particular 'theatre in the round'.
Have they filmed a production in this theatre before? As with the Berlin Philharmonic's Digital Concert Hall, with digital kit I expect it is now easier to film in lower light with smaller cameras etc.
