    Trapped

Does anyone else find themselves trapped in the labyrinth of subplots in this latest exercise in Nordic noir?

Yes in a good way - I think.

The Iceland Tourist Board must be tearing their hair out though.

And why is the old man the only one to realise and react to the avalanche warning signs - seemed improbable that he had to resort to stealing explosives and yomping alone up the bloody mountain!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It's anyone trying to encourage tourists to visit Hebden Bridge I feel sorry for!

I don't doubt it for a second! I was thinking of anyone unaware of its charms who has been watching Happy Valley

I have never seen the attraction in all these Scandinavian detective dramas - we have enough of our own in the UK .

Like all that rotten French literature, not to mention Russian - quite enough books written in the UK..... ?

I don't regard them as being quite Proust or Tolstoy !

I am generally pretty bored by detective series in the UK and they Scandi ones are like a rash- everywhere- and from what I have read of them lots are quite formulaic and more than a little sexist .A high body count of dead pretty young women .

I'll give you that there is too much in TV crime generally (not just Nordic, in fact not even mainly) about terrified young women running barefoot through woods, &c.

However, to wrest things back OT, I think I'm right in saying that all the corpses in Trapped (so far at least) have been male...

Sadly, Hebden Bridge is still recovering from the Christmas floods - the cinema is superb, and thanks to astonishing efforts on the part of the management opened shortly after the floods; the upholstery and carpets downstairs were ruined and need to be replaced, but the upstairs was open for business very soon afterwards.

Other businesses have been less fortunate and are still unable to reopen.

....Trapped predictable but good Sat night wallpaper ....new faces....ways....glad he got his starter motor fixed....obviously a red herring (or is it....WILL IT GO WRONG AGAIN....)
