A very similar series to Deutschland 83, if not better, is 'The Same Sky' on Netflix. An East German "Romeo" agent on assignment seduces a woman on the other side of the Berlin Wall.

We are slowly working our way through "The Americans" a series about 2 deeply embedded KGB agents living in Washington, contemporaneous with D83

I have only one more episode to watch in the series of 6 now.

I reckon some scenes were shot in the Stasi Museum in Berlin. Well worth a visit!

The Same Sky really is an excellent series - currently part way through on good old Netflix (in the absence for the moment of any good new foreign drama on BBC4).

An absolute treat to find that one of the leads is played by the tremendous Sofia Helin - the unique 'Saga Norén' from The Bridge (no classic olive green Porsche 911s here though - more VWs and Trabants)

Especially effective use of the opening chords from Tosca to end Episode 2!
