*Actually a little voice at the back of my mind is saying that I did, and that I'd learnt it here (perhaps en passant on the Alphabet Associations thread) but had forgotten. The information certainly surprised me afresh (said the goldfish, completing another circuit of his bowl)."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

Always a joy to listen to and to read, and a refreshing antidote to prevailing artistic orthodoxies.

Given Sorabji's longstanding friendship with Philip Heseltine, I fear that I can throw no light on this, as I have no idea what if anything Sorabji thought about Brian Sewell or even whether he knew that BS was PH's son; that said, KS loved PH greatly and was devastated to learn of his death in 1930...Last edited by ahinton; 21-09-15, 20:32.

I rather liked the headline in one of Sunday's papers, saying that he had the voice of a duchess. He could have been a rather good Lady Bracknell, out-doing even Edith Evans in that line
