Oops sorry..yes it was Owen Wingrave. I watched it at its BBC premiere all those years ago, and must say didn't enjoy it much. Billy Budd OTOH is an altogether more approachable work.

The 1969 Grimes, with Pears, was also filmed at Snape at Britten's insistence. He was treated like a god in those days. I remember the reverence.
