    Trouble at ballet schools

Some tell the BBC they developed eating disorders, while others are left with mental health problems.

fat shaming and such stuff, echoes of the swimming schools and the same issue
Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...

For what it expects of artistes, sometimes I do wonder about ballet.

I've marked this programme up for watching tonight.

A friend of my daughter won a scholarship to a London dance school 25 years ago but after a term and a bit he walked out. What finally got to him was being repeatedly hit with a wooden stick in class so that his legs and sometimes arms were often sporting bruises. He wasn't the only one so treated but he got it worse it seemed. He didn't say much about what else went on, but it evidently was not good.

Woe betide the promising young dancer whose body does not conform to the expected standards at ballet school.
