Good, yes, but IMO the ending was a totally unexpected and sudden cop-out. 'and they all lived happily ever after' stuff. They get on a train to Bologna or wherever, and suddenly....voilà! It's all OK? Daddy's dead, but what the hell.....Crikey! After what had gone before????? No chance.

Fine acting, nice sense of domestic / business 'candyfloss film biz implosion', claustrophobia etc. All that, but a narrative shambles, to be honest.

I felt it kind of fizzled out. You've blown the plot already - but I won't make it too obvious. I didn't think it did quite become a "happy ever after" kind of film. Maybe Francophiles would like it more. It did, however, make a change I felt from the rather direct and obvious US and UK type of films. Maybe to make it more interesting the second part could have been turned into different choices - Last Year at Marienbad springs to mind - also by a French director. That might have turned an under 2 hour flim into an epic, however.

Perhaps in a few weeks time I'll post one of my pithy one or two sentence summaries, so that others don't need to watch if they don't think they can spare the time.

T'was nought special....a bit thin....if it had not had the Parisian street scenes to give it some space it would have never taken off....and STIG, I guessed who the actor would be (don't know his name)....He was a handsome renegade architect in another recent film, as he was a handsome renegade director in this one....pwsh pwshh bof ....a zee meeddle class zey are so talented....

Just because a film or TV series has been made by a foreign director and the actors are speaking something other than English, so that most of us have to either read subtitles, or at least use them to help us with some of the foreign language speech, does not make it great, or even good. This was OK, but YMMV.

Well..yes, erm...I suppose so...if perhaps a statement of the glaringly obvious! My criterion is based on "Is it good of its kind?"
Perhaps Oberon provides more succinct advice in breaking his spell on Titania:
