Ever since I read Left Hand of Darkness I've enjoyed and been fascinated by Ursula Le Guin's wonderful ability to create alternative views of life. I really enjoyed this short programme on Radio 4 and notice that there's an adaptation of 'Left hand of Darkness' there and some 'Tales of Earthsea' coming up.

Completely agree, greenilex. I hadn't read 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas' (not sure if it was Neil Gaiman who mentioned it).
