    Ursula Le Guin at 85

Ever since I read Left Hand of Darkness I've enjoyed and been fascinated by Ursula Le Guin's wonderful ability to create alternative views of life. I really enjoyed this short programme on Radio 4 and notice that there's an adaptation of 'Left hand of Darkness' there and some 'Tales of Earthsea' coming up.
Naomi Alderman talks to novelist Ursula Le Guin and hears from fans including Neil Gaiman.

The tributes from Neil Gaiman were particularly moving and telling, I thought.

Completely agree, greenilex. I hadn't read 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas' (not sure if it was Neil Gaiman who mentioned it). I looked it out yesterday - very fascinating, intelligent and moving short piece of writing; I'd love to hear Le Guin read it.
