I side with Mr.V. The end of the film has a Proustian reference, but I have a suspicion that the implication was "I wouldn't for one moment suggest that you are so ill-read as to not understand* this, but if your neighbours in the cinema barely supress a murmur and you don't know why, then you are". I caught it, and felt smug, but on mentioning it to Mme afterward received a pitying glance, as being not** worth mentioning.

* I rewrote the word order (to not/not to) three times, and I'm still unsure.

Not so sure about the iPlayer option, I always assume (clearly wrongly in some cases), that films won't be...

No need to watch it! Have just caught up with Quelle Catastrophe! France with Robert Peston. Probably more Intouchables in there than in the film.
