Had a look at a few clips on youtube - he has such a 1970s face, somehow: I still can't believe in him in costume...

Now all we need is The Onedin Line back.

The original series for that was set from the 1860s until the 1880s, but plans had been sketched out with a view to it continuing right up to the 1960s. The story lines were good, but some of the acting was terrible. I have it all on DVD (Dutch imports).

Some of the photography smacked of Mills and Boon book covers, but I suppose there's an element of that in the story, so fairy 'nough.
I was forced to watch the original on videotape early-90s as my better half had been a big fan. If you mention 'Cornovaglia' over here to those of a certain middle age then they will most likely think of 'Poldark'.

I watched most of it, because I rather like to watch television on Sunday night, but I switched it off. Very Mills and Boon - or what I imagine Mills and Boon to be. It made me laugh, particularly the hairy hero, who apparently some people find attractive.

I wonder how they decide which series are due for a remake. I don't think One-Din was based on any novels, which is probably how it managed to go on and on and on forever (91 episodes )

Yes but it got the VPO into the singles charts!

That cries out for a speech bubble.

How about, "Hey look, my erectile dysfunction is cured!"?
