    Esio Trot

Well I do love Judi Dench, (have done since I saw her on Jackanory when I was about 15) and I've always been fond of Dustin Hoffman, and for me it's great what two fine actors can do for a relatively straightforward story...I really enjoyed this programme including the contribution of narrator James Corden. All the cast seemed to be really enjoying themselves.

I enjoyed it as well, Dench and Hoffman (with his slightly tortoisey face) were perfectly cast. A very gentle tale.

I loved it! I don't much like Roald Dahl, so didn't have high hopes (just interested in seeing the unmissable Dench/Hoffman duo) but was instantly captivated: superb stuff from everybody concerned.

I gave it about fifteen minutes, then decided it wasn't my kind of thing.

Loved it, and Mrs. Silver (the Judi Dench character) is lots of fun, but all that slap must have taken hours to apply. The other "oldies special", The Quartet, was also short of real life oldies. Inevitable, I suppose.

Judi Dench was born Dec '34 I was amazed to find out - she's just past 80.

Maggie Smith was also born in December 1934. I think she must have led a more exciting life than Judi Dench.
