A great shame. We stayed in the Mackintosh building in Comrie last year - though it was freezing cold. http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/our-...building-9098/

I hope that there can be some rescue and/or reconstruction of the Glasgow building and its contents.

That's as cheering as it's possible to be under the circumstances.

I never visited, and will treasure the videotape I made of a TV broadcast about Mackintosh about 15 years ago. That and another on the subject of William Morris around the same time.

A very positive and characteristically passionate response from Muriel Gray to a terrible misfortune. I hope the City is able to acknowledge the efforts of Fire Service in some way - perhaps a memorial window in due course?

My wife felt that painter Alison Watt's fine piece in Sunday's Observer reflected the feeling of many in the artist community who had studied in GSA.
