OK - so Salamander turned silly and fizzled out by the end - but was moderately entertaining for most of the way.
Some here don't like De Luca - but perhaps it's not so bad. The setting - the threats from the involvement of Mussolini, and the way he treats people and is treated by them are scary, and had me looking up the 1922 Turin Massacre, and details of Matteotti. There is also mention of Silvestri, though the one in the episode is not the same.
There is a review here http://www.crimetimepreview.com/2014...lessandro.html which also has some information about other series which may appear - some already have I think.
The lady actress in the first episode turns out to be Polish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasia_Smutniak and Smutniak appears to be her real name.
