It has been suggested that the thread has degenerated a little (or gone somewhat off topic in relation to any particular individual) and might be closed. I think that a little drastic, but do members want to talk about Julie Burchill or general aspects of sexism? I would welcome a steer.

I can't be bothered with any further arguments against the conviction that there's any method of contraception that's infallible, which is all that seems to be left.

Completely wrong. I made one post in which the main point was her marriage to Tony Parsons (which has continued to be the subject of rows between them in print).
