The word 'dramatisation' in the billing should have warned me.
But even I could not believe the extent of the almost entire re-writing in the 1st epi. A scripting that virtually ignores Golding's own poetry and direct narrative, and substituted swathes by the 'dramatiser'. e.g. Ralph's PARENTS appear in the first epi, and snow. Erm.......
Acting by kids and soundscapes very good indeed, but LoF it is only tangentially so far.
