Do3: Charles and Mary

An excellent Do3, and the ninety minutes zoomed by. I didn't hamper myself with any expectations of 'literary creativity v mental equilibrium', although this aspect forms the backdrop of the play. Enjoy it for the quality of the writing, and the authentic performances from Paul Rhys and Lia Williams, the latter being particularly good I thought.

For me the pick was Dudley Sutton, his voice immediately bringing his face to mind - what an under-rated actor he has been, always delivering the goods.

Glad you appreciated him too, am51. I was brought up in a three-generation family and even as a young child noticed the mental deterioration of the elderly (two big age gaps between the generations in our family) which was both funny and deeply pathetic. But the part was also beautifully written.
