Hey, no one's mentioned Doddy yet and he was on R3 very recently. Wallace and Gromit will also be on there soon. No Tim Minchin though. That was last year as were Kit and the Widow and that woman bawling obscenities from a balcony in the RAH.
Incidentally, the Alan Coren programme was with Christopher Matthew and called 'Freedom Pass'. It has already been repeated once on R4E but I hope they repeat it again soon as it was excellent.Last edited by Guest; 02-07-12, 17:59.

I was responding to Caliban's suggestion that Ed might shift over to R3 but I just think he might be out of favour here.
aha french frank - i thought ed was a gonner all together.
afaik there haven't been any new ed reardon series on r4xtra.... and some have been repeated that have only just been repeated .... so i hope there's a new series soon.
more info on a new one that i like 'the music teacher' ...comedy written by and starring richie webb as multi-instrumentalist music teacher nigel penny, with the hideous community centre manager belinda ...... played by vicki pepperdine.

Two fairly recent radio comedy series which I thought very amusing were "High Table, Lower Orders" with Geoffrey Palmer given some wonderful lines, and the hilarious "Incredible Women" with Rebecca & Jeremy Front.
I didn't find "The Music Teacher" particularly funny compared with some real-life experiences, though Vicki Pepperdine is, I think, brilliant playing hideous characters.
Has Ed Reardon become more affable recently? I miss the longer rants.
Meanwhile, I feel Jim Davidson's talents are under-appreciated and he really ought to be hosting "Live from the Met".

Perhaps Jeremy Hardy could, when Aled Jones is on holiday, use his enormous experience in these matters and from time to time present "The Choir".Numquam Satis!

Good as the current lot are, I do still miss Humph and Willie Rushton who gave it all a surreal quality
