Ed Reardon, yes - how could I have forgotten?
From the past: Delve; People Like Us (Chris Langham); The Day Today and/or On The Hour (Chris Morris).
5 though i don't recognise 'delve' - so thanks v much for the tip northender - (something to look up that i don't know practically line for line), unlike 'people like us', (side splitting) and the 90s chris morris material. the film 'four lions' was fun too, took a way unhelpful tensions and myths just when it was needed. but not uncannily prescient, or as witty, and satirical .... what an absolute gem cm is! i so wish he did beeb radio comedy.
thanks for 'why bother' tip too bryn.
i never heard 'dead ringers' till recently ..and found out about it as 'the secret world' is a similar format.
They've lost their chance now i don't like the sound of that french frank - does this mean no more ed, elgar and ping?
another one, 'the music teacher' was cruel but funny, with a very recogniseable sadistic community cntre manager too... i hope that comedy writer does well....especially if ed's gorne awf the air waves, is on 'permanent holiday'.

I was responding to Caliban's suggestion that Ed might shift over to R3 but I just think he might be out of favour here.
Well there's a surprise. They even seem to have managed to keep Ed Reardon off of YouTube!
I must look out the relevant audio clips, Bryn
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

'Delve' starred Stephen Fry as David Lander. I think it transferred to TV as 'This Is David Lander'.
Just to say that I included Ed Reardon and agree with others' comments. I also liked both Peter Cook and Linda Smith. JC's phrase from school days - yes, I think there was something along those lines, not that I was ever involved in such a conversation.
The Burkiss Way never fails to amuse me - neither do Kenneth Horne and June Whitfield in anything. I'm sorry to say "Much Binding" is more amusing to me than most of R4's current 6.30 shows, apart from Clue and Ed Reardon. Jack Dee is very good but Humph's feigned disgust at the audience's dirty minds is hilarious.
Where did I read Frankie Boyle is taking over Breakfast on R3?
Shlomo is joined by comedian Marcus Brigstocke and Bellatrix for a beatbox battle like no other!Live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the MTUM Concert ...
