Yes, this one could resonate with some contributors. It was Alan's 34th play and received its world premiere in 1987. It also ran for ten months at the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End of London, winning the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy Play.

I saw this at the original temporary home of the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, soon after moving to the area, in 1987. I did not attend the actual premiere - by the time I saw it, it was probably a little better rehearsed.

The new theatre was constructed within the old Odeon cinema building, keeping the character of the original. Altogether a brilliant conversion.
