RIP and if he and the late great Linda Smith are wrong about an afterlife - they could be reunited on a celestial panel with Alan Coren with Simon Hoggart in the chair.

I feel a sense of personal loss, perhaps from having seen him once live on stage, but also from his being a regular on The News Quiz and ISIHAC: and had noticed his absence from Radio Four in recent weeks. I loved his rants and the sense of a provocative intelligence and ethos under the humour. RIP doesn't do it for me - I want to say Thank you Jeremy for your humour and for your fierce integrity.
