Missed it first time, but this was intriguing. About Sibelius's constant war with himself about identity and thus the role his music had both personally and nationally.
It felt as if the script had been drawn from letters and diaries, with interpolated conversations. My only criticism was that it could have been about half an hour shorter given that the script repeated itself so many times in the exchanges between great man and wife. I loved his railing against 'Finlandia' - reminded me of Ravel and 'that bolero'.
I did like the intermingling of Finnish legend with the life. Had a sort of sad, comic, ironic, unfulfillability about it which illustrated Sibelius better than much else.
