Recorder set for a two-part production of Pygmalion, R4, today, 15.00-16.00hrs, (Part 2 next Sunday.) An impressive cast list with Alistair McGowan as Prof Higgins and Morgana Robinson as Eliza Doolittle - and Sian Phillips as Mrs Higgins, my dream choice - after Joyce Carey who played the role, opposite Peter O'Toole at the Shaftesbury Theatre, early 80s. My preference for Higgins has to be the late, great, Alec McCowen, at the Albery (now the Noel Coward Th) in the 70s.
